Advice to IMO Technical Cooperation Committee
We were contracted by the Angola representative to set out the basis for the formulation of a strategy towards strengthening the linkage between the IMO’s Integrated Technical Cooperation Program, and the UN’s Millenium Development Goals. It defined maritime objectives and development indicators, to enable evaluation of the contributions of the maritime transport sector, and maritime transport targets and implementation strategies. Aqaba Container Terminal Joint Venture, JordanAqaba Development Corporation appointed us via subcontract to BearingPoint, to advise on agreement of a joint venture with APM Terminals. The container terminal is currently under a Management Services Agreement, and we are now assisting with conversion of this, providing facilitation of the business process, advice on international best practice in port concessions, and strategic and commercial advice. Logistics Cluster Strategy for Sri LankaWe were appointed to develop a strategy for the development of Sri Lanka as a regional distribution and logistics centre. This work forms one component of the Colombo Port Development Project being undertaken by Scott Wilson, financed by the Asian Development Bank. (2004)
