Regional Superyacht M&R Facility, Caribbean

A US based concern appointed us to assess the potential for a regional centre of excellence for superyacht servicing, maintenance and repair. The assignment is being undertaken in two stages:

  • Options appraisal: market analysis, review of further development options, options appraisal and strategic plan.
  • Business Plan: operations blueprint, marketing plan, financial plan, action plan.

Under construction at the time of writing, with completion due by April 2008, the facility offers 600 ft of quay, large fuel storage capacity, warehousing (both air conditioned and refrigerated), and a large modern shed and boatlift. (2007/8)

Advice to IMO Technical Cooperation Committee

We were contracted by the Angola representative to set out the basis for the formulation of a strategy towards strengthening the linkage between the IMO’s Integrated Technical Cooperation Program, and the UN’s Millenium Development Goals. It defined maritime objectives and development indicators, to enable evaluation of the contributions of the maritime transport sector, and maritime transport targets and implementation strategies. (2006)

Victoria Channel Deepening Project, Australia

We were appointed in association with Meyrick and Associates by the Victorian Channels Authority to act as Shipping Advisor for the project. We contributed to assessing international trends in shipping deployment, including field work to assess best practice in Dubai and Malaysia / Singapore. We undertook research on the application of sustainability principles in the ports industry – reviewing best practice in triple bottom line analysis and reporting – and the application of this to the Victoria Channels project. We also contributed international perspectives on cost recovery (2003)
