Southeast Marine Technology Skills Needs This report aims to analyse future higher skills needs of the boat building and marine electronics industries in the south east of England and to investigate the relationship between higher education providers and the sector.
Southwest Marine Sector Skills Needs This report was commissioned to examine and assess education and training provision and needs in the Marine and Maritime Sector in the South West of England, and to identify the skills that employees of the Marine and Maritime Sector require, now and in the future, to aid in ‘up-skilling’ the workforce.
Essex Maritime Skills Audit This work incuded a Skills Needs Analysis to establish whether north-Essex-based businesses were experiencing difficulties in employing, retaining and recruiting staff with relevant skills and potential. It made recommendations covering the solutions of any problems established during the Skills Needs Analysis.
Logistics Skills in Suffolk This report concerns a "Skills Action Plan" for logistics which includes transport of goods, warehousing and port sub-sectors. The Plan aims to co-ordinate current activity to develop skills, identify scope for innovation, and improve the local supply of skills on which the sectors depend for their efficiency.
Humber Ports & Logistics Skills Needs This report examines the current skills gaps and needs of local employers operating within the Ports and Logistics sector in the Humber Sub-Region. It provides qualitative information regarding the current skills gaps and needs both perceived and real.
Humber Ports & Logistics Skills Action Plan This Action Plan is for the "Ports & Logistics Brokerage", created to ensure appropriate numbers of suitably qualified individuals to meet labour and skills demands. It is a collaborative partnership which seeks to positively address the Training and Development needs of Ports and Logistics employers and employees throughout the Humber sub regional area.
Maritime NW Skills Alliance Action Plan The Maritime NW Alliance leads on maritime skills and productivity issues in the Northwest of England, and encourages public sector intervention be demand led. The Action Plan has four key actions: Links with schools; Links with FE and HE institutions and professional organisations; Meeting industry training needs; Focussing business support on maritime.
NW and Merseyside: Strategic Area Review for Port & Related Skills This report sets out to quantify the occupation structure of the port and related sector, assess current and estimate future demand for qualifications, and assess this against the supply of qualifications.
National Alliance for Maritime Skills This is a study of the ‘footprint’ of the Merchant Navy, ports and harbours and the catching side of the sea fish industry and their relationship to the ‘Skills for Business’ network. More plainly put, this study is about what alternative arrangements maritime organisations should adopt to address skills issues in the absence of a Maritime Sector Skills Council.
UK Demand for Seafaring Skills This study estimates the demand for seafaring skills and experience in shore-based jobs in the UK, assesses the likely supply of ex-seafarers, and suggests how the expected shortfall might be addressed. Estimates are made also of the total employment in the maritime industry in the shore-based sectors covered by the study.
